1st Padyakan sa Bataan 2006

Challenging biking trails in Bataan
Last Sunday, April 2, culminating the Araw ng Kagitingan in Bataan. Another 1st in the mountain biking enthusiast was held - the Padyakan sa Bataan 2006, organized by the Bataan Trail Riders in cooperation with the local tourism of Bataan. Since early morning, throngs of cyclist gather from different areas, even from Manila to join this exciting event.

Racers test their speed and skill at the 1st Padyakan sa Bataan
I’ve always been fascinated by Mountain Biking. But after seeing these enthusiast test their mettle under the heat of the sun, pushing their bikes on rough terrains, sweating it all out and going beyond their limit. Ayoko na! Hehehe! I’d rather not go with this sport. Tama na sa akin mag mountain climbing. Kasi ang gears sa mountain biking umaabot ng 150,000 pesos! I think I can’t afford to spend that much unless I make it my career.

Eat my dust
The event went on through the day until the sun set, so mukha na akong Nognog after all this, staying under the heat of the sun eating dust and all. Wahh! Can I just eat those papaya soap instead of using them to get my paler color back! But the x-deal for my photos was worth it though for a day’s work!

Breath taking view at the trail. Makes you just wanna stop and appreciate the view.
I must commend BTR (Bataan Trail Riders) in organizing this. Everything went through smoothly and almost all the contestants went home with a smile on their face. The event has no registration fees which is a plus and there were a lot of winners with cash prizes to boot, aside from their trophies. And there were lots of raffle prizes as well. It was worth it aside from the amazing view of Bataan.
Bataan have so much to offer, so if you want to tour the place and get to know its hidden wonders try to contact Bataan Tourism and inquire about their package tours which are very cheap, starting from 500 pesos per pax. Their number is (047)237-4785

Hi Iron,
Check this Site
http://www.bigjimsphilippinesexperience.com
it’s about Cebu and other islands filmed by a Australian with a Southern American Accent. I think he married a Filipina.
He took a lot of videos and he has good tips about very cheap hotels in the Visayas.
Late…

Hello Achilles.
Thankyou for plugging my website. Out of the 126 Philippines videos, there are 3 which were filmed and narrated by Paul Petrea from Georgia in the USA. You must have watched those videos. I definitely have an Australian accent.
Anyway this thread seems to be about bikes.
Anyone looking for videos at my website with bikes in them are going to be disappointed. However, I do have a No Disability video which features Australian hand cycle champion (in his class), Karl Livingstone.
Amongst other things, it shows Karl training on his handcycle, riding up to the “Top” overlooking Cebu City. It also shows a number of Filipinos on their regular bikes riding up this large hill too.
So, for anyone who is interested and has a fast connection, you can download the 101mb video for free from here:
