Video: Sabtang on the Road

Road View to Chavayan

Road View to Chavayan

I just can’t get enough of Batanes so I’m making another post on Sabtang. If I really have enough time, I would spend months just exploring all the corners of the islands of Batanes. Here’s a video of what is like traversing the road to Chavayan, the southern town in the charming little island of Sabtang. That coastal road scene just sticks in your mind. Also included is a short drive to Nakanmuan natural arc at the white beach. Video after the jump.

For some reason, I can’t upload the larger high quality file in youtube so this one will do for now, until I get the larger file online. Hope you guys enjoy the video.

  • wow..just to be the first one to write here……..the place was fantastic…..hope I can visit there one day…..

  • pagbalik ko ng Pilipinas, pupunta talaga ako sa Batanes. thank you Ferdz for sharing this. great song choice too. i miss home.

  • hmmm, sunod kong punta sa batanes, diretso nako talaga sa sabtang :-)

  • dream destination ko din ito. sana makapunta din ako.

  • i know exactly how you feel! it’s been two months since our batanes trip and i’m still on a high over it all! it should be on every Filipino’s travel list!

    sigh. i can’t wait to get back…

  • Yap, it’s beauty and serenity speaks for itself. I dont blame you for wanting to stay longer. Anybody would if they could.

  • sana ako din makarating ng batanes…

  • hay! kelan kaya ako makapunta dyan? bahala na. basta may nakita na ako dito sa post mo. i like the nakanmuan arc and the town looks like a place where i can stay until i die.

  • twice na ko frustrated sa supposed batanes trip ko. sana sa 2009 matuloy na. ang ganda ng video ferdz.

  • Brings back memories of 2002 when we went to Batanes…

Sabtang took my breath away… The first pic here is exactly what was imprinted on my mind after we have left the islands of Batan and Sabtang.

Hope you had pictures of the ancient Ivatan Fortresses called IDJANG, Ferdz. Wasn’t able to go to one as we were in a hurry to catch the ONLY boat out of Sabtang that day.

    Beautiful place, Batanes is.

  • Just saw the vid. The road had no “cemented barrier” on the side, then in 2002. Which made the trip all the more perilous, but thrilling.

    Thanks, Ferdz, for this video!

  • [...] In the meantime, enjoy the video courtesy of Ferdz Decena of http://www.ironwulf.net. [...]

  • Nice change for doing pretty video production on the beautiful scenery :) THe place is what I call ruggedly beautiful :)

  • Wow dream place ko yan!

  • i love batanes! nice post!
