The first pic looks very European to me :)

Nice hots esp the native folks who I thought were Nepalese by the way their attire looks ! Interesting that they are of Sino_Tibetan descent.

Informative post :)

Ei OgBear, will await your accompany post for Sapa as well. Onga, I thought I've seen the future of Sagada here. Sana di maging ganun.

Ei Dom, we can say they still retain their culture in their everyday lives. Salamat! We had to talk to those mag-ina actually since Vietnamese are usually wary on cameras.

Haha Mimi! Yeah they are leg warmers, pwede rin sa braso, but since it's cold there, they also wear those on their legs.

Thanks Photocache! Yup, we were able to buy a few souvenirs like some bracelets and a native musical instrument I forgot the name.

hahaha! you can call them the original Fasionistas JP. Their quite good in pairing up colors and patterns

Thanks Kyels! I like that one as well.

Thanks Alex! She's just so engrossed with her work.

Very insightful photos Ferdz! I specially like the one where the Sapa mother is carrying the child behind her back. Very motherly.

among the pictures in this set, the mother and child photo is my favorite. ganda ng tingin nila.

hey wulfriend! funny, i stumbled upon some of the shots we had during our second day in sapa sa archives ko. i'm scheduling mini-photo essay posts for the next two days on them so i think magkamag-anak yung posts natin :-D good thing you raised those concerns about sagada. if we're not careful nga, sagada can end up being very much like the over-commercialized sapa. thanks nga pala sa red dao note. will make amends in my earlier blogposts ;-)
