I have written plenty about Batanes on this blog and I’m sure when I go back there, I’ll find more things to write about again. It just shows how I love the place. It’s like being in a foreign land yet with the familiar warmth and hospitality the Filipinos are known for. For the mean time, here’s the chronicles summary from my recent visit to Batanes in conjunction to the Backpack Photography Workshops to cap off this series. I also hope you enjoy the Batanes Islands video I put together.

felt like i was really there.
I’ve seen Batanes through TFC’s “Trip Na Trip” & “Sports Unlimited” but your series is definitely more informative and visually appealing. As the trip organizer, I wonder if it was stressful for you?
Thank Dom!
That’s great to hear Nomadic Pinoy! Not really since we really have very lively and enthusiastic participants. Though there were uncontrolled conditions like brownouts, it’s not really stressful as I suspect it would be
I’ve been wanting to go to Batanes for a long time now. I guess reading this post will finally push me to go as soon as I can.
What a picture…

Dios Mamajes.
i’ll be coming home to Philippines this September. I will include Batanes in my itinerary but my mom is kinda worried because she hears that it is very stormy in Batanes during those times. But seeing Batanes through your pictures, it made me want to go to Batanes even more! hahaha I can’t wait!
P.S. do you edit your pictures in photoshop? Just curious..
Hi Jay! The weather patterns have changed somehow, so I think it’s still safe to go there even at that time.
I do a little global adjustments to my pictures like levels, exposures and contrast but it’s very minimal.
