Malaysia: The Petronas Twin Towers
Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers
I’m bit tired right now to do a full featured detailed post so I hope this photo essay of Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Twin Towers would do for now. The Petronas Towers used to be the tallest structure in the world until 2004. I guess this is also one of the most photographed structure in Malaysia. So capturing another angle of this tower would be somewhat a challenge. This is also one of those times I wish I had a wider angle lens with me.
The Twin Tower’s reflection down at the park
The immense scale of Petronas is impressive. You’ll only really gonna appreciate the detail of it’s Islamic design once you see it in person. And like I said, I wish I had a wide angle lens, but instead I have to back up further when taking pictures. Then I saw the tower’s reflection on this water when I was passing a bridge.
View of Kuala Lumpur by the Convention Center
There are many public establishments around the Tower. There’s Suriya Mall below the Tower if you want to cool down for a while. There’s also this neat park overlooking the towers where most people just hang out. But the park closes around 10pm.
In front of the Convention Center
Whenever I see this picture I remember this two guys who are amusingly taking pictures of each other here and they are taking forever. But I probably think they are having a hard time getting a clear picture or fitting everything on the small frame of their camera. But they have to watch out for incoming vehicles most of the time since they have to pose in the middle of the street just to fit in the picture. Hehe.
The night life strip at Jalan P Ramlee St.
I thought the street scene leading to the tower looks nice. I’m not sure if this is the right street I stated but the night life here is very much alive with numerous dining establishments, bars and discos.
That’s it for now. I’ll try to post something within the week. I hope you enjoy this one.

The tallest now is Taipei 101 but not for long. hehehe… China redesigned the new skyscraper (the one with the big hole at the top) to overtake the Taipei 101.
These night shots of the Petronas Towers are amazing! Sayang I wasn’t able to visit the KL complex when I was there. Connecting flight lang kase.
Amazing pics! I especially love the last one… I love the white emphasis of the towers against the golden foreground. Excellent composition.

Petronas only came second now to Taipei’s 101 which I hope to climb one day. did you climb the Petronas? yung skybridge sa gitna? hanggang sa point na yan lang allowed ang mga tourist. higher than that, hindi na allowed. most of my shots of the Petronas were taken daytime…at problema ko din ang problema mo. mahirap siyang kunan kung wala kang wide angle lens. ang layo na nang naatras ko hindi ko pa rin siya mapagkasya sa frame. hehehe. pero mas maganda talaga siyang kunan sa gabi dahil sa mga ilaw. sa umaga…dull as a silver steel lang. except for the blue sky, passive ang dating ng mga images. so ang pag-asa na lang ay humanap ng kakaibang angle. yung second shot mo…yun na lang siguro ang pinaka-kakaiba at creative na nakita ko so far. like what you said, Petronas is the most photograped structure in KL.

Your reflection picture was awesome! When we went to KL, they haven’t started letting in tourists inside the towers yet. Is it worth it ba to go up to the skybridge? Hassle kasi yung queing system nila eh.
