The Blue Kitchen
Mushroom truffle cream spread on whole wheat me lba chips
More food thingy again. Maybe I should start converting this site into a food blog. Hahaha. Anyhoo, here’s a feature on The Blue Kitchen. A specialized food shop of home made goodies with no preservatives. They got a lot of native goodies, pastries and some international foods as well.
Sugar-less brownies
Again, as I expect from any food assignments, I get to sample some of the foods (as my requirement for my shoots. Haha). And my ultra favorite among I have tasted is the Mushroom Truffle Cream Spread. It was served a bit cold (since it came from the refrigerator) on top of some crunchy Whole Wheat Toasted bread. The flavor is just amazing. Or I’m just biased since I love mushroom dishes. I heard it taste better served heated.
Splenda Apricot Prune Bars
I know baked pastries are somehow a no-no for those who watches their diet. Well they also got some sugar-less and Splenda series of goodies for those who still crave for the sweet goodness of these pastries but afraid of adding some flabs on their bellies. Splenda is one of those sweeteners but doesn’t have the same calories as sugar. And they don’t have aspertame.
Almond Sansribars (left) and Mango bars (right)
Some of the goodies I was able to sample as well are those Sansribars and Mango Bars. The Sansribars is just luscious without tasting too sweet and heavy. I could eat a whole pack. hahaha. The Mango bars is just ok.
Bottled native goodness (Pinoy Cavia, Spicy Daing and Tuyo ad Garlic Tuyo)
Some of their best sellers, especially from balikbayans are these bottled goodies of Daing and Tuyo with a choice of spice or garlic flavors. They also have a lot more there like tawilis and tinapa.
Mango Poppy and Vietnamese Lime Salad Dressing
Here’s a couple of their popular salad dressings. There’s a lot more variety actually.
Various pasta sauces
And some pasta sauces. Although I would want to taste these sauces, we can’t prepare one right then and there. Does it look like I’m filling some spaces here? Hahaha. This is not a paid post, I just really enjoyed this food shop. One of the owners Michellyn Suarez, was very accommodating and helpful there. She also made sure to prepare a small bag of goodies to take home after the shoot. Yum.
Blue Kitchen Interiors at Rockwell Mall
Make sure to check this out. The food is worth every penny it cost. They only have two branches right now, Rockwell Powerplant Mall and at the 6th level of Shangri-la Mall in ORtigas.

Well, food is one of the exciting dicoveries brought about by travel so they go together very well!
I have favorite in Blue Kitchen too like the Sweet Chili Tinapa, their dried fish, garlic tuyo, and that same mushroom truffle spread.

medyo OT but i’ve heard that tawilis is now nearing being an endangered species. fyi lang.
