Governor's Island

Sunset at the Summit

Sunset at the Summit

We

e camped at a nice small cove of the island, just outside the Governor's House, which isn't really a governor's house but a rental house suited for a governor. We could have settled on an island without facilities but one of the gals is in need of a facility at that time. Governor's island is nice, it's not that crowded and the view from the cove is serene. And since the tide is low, you could actually walk towards the island in front, which is actually enjoyable.

At around 4pm, Eds and I went back to the island's summit where we came across Grace who just took pictures there. The panorama was more breathtaking with the low light and play of shadows in the islands. I played around with the capabilities of my camera zooming in and around the islands while waiting for the sunset from the summit. And it was a satisfying sunset I may say.

Dinner was satisfying with the danggit, pusit and some corned beef. Didn't stay very late as I'm a bit exhausted. I actually slept early and continuously for more than a couple of hours. Usually when I'm sleeping in a camp I wake up once in a while. A light sleeper. But I seem to have rested well here.

Lakbay Camp

Woke up early that morning to shoot the sunrise. It was okay. Pre-sun, the waters was calm and the ambience blue and the rise of the sun behind the island in front of us was also picturesque. We broke camp early at 7am. Our boats were supposed to arrive at 7:30am and just decided to have our breakfast at Alaminos.

100 islands is a nice place to visit, but somehow the trip was lacking something or my expectations were just too high. Or maybe there wasn't much exploration. All in all it was still an enjoyable road trip weekend away from the urban life.
