Manong Felix and Star Gazing

t was true that food planning wasn't done properly in this climb, we just bought some canned goods that morning but we managed anyways. Marco's rice was perfect and Manong Felix was there to spice up our dinner with his refreshments. Manong Felix is the caretaker of all the camps in Mt. Batulao. He is responsible in keeping the camps clean, the registration of all the campers, the refreshments and believe it or not, a clean toilet bowl at camp 1. He is also the one who placed the small Virgin Mary statue at the peak.

By 7pm, dinner and cleaning up was already done. Since it was still early, what we did was we placed all our cushions on the ground and just lie down and watch the night sky. The sky was full of stars that evening, nothing that you will ever see in Manila. The last time I saw this many stars was when we were at the seashore of Bolinao. We put out all our lights and just stare at the sky, exchange some stories, enjoy the cold wind, count all the shooting stars we see and just lay back, enjoy and let the world go by without a notice. It was relaxing.
