Morning at Camp

Everyone

veryone woke up early at around 4:40am the next day. I was even surprised to see Pete already up since he was usually the last one to wake up. I guess it's because everyone retired early around 9pm last evening that gave everyone sufficient sleep. Pete told me that it was that it was the first time he had a nice long sleep at a camp. As for me I still have to get accustomed to Drew's snoring pattern before I actually got to sleep. :)

By 5am, they were all set to the peak; Drew will be guiding them this time and I stayed over to watch the camp. As soon as they were gone, I started to prepare breakfast as I knew by the time they get back they would be hungry. I actually enjoyed preparing breakfast that morning. The rice was well done (I'm a hit and miss in cooking rice), then I made an egg covered maling bits. Soon Pete was already returned. And as soon as I finished cooking the malings, I helped Pete out cook the so called "Tuna Skillet". After a while Manong Felix was already there bringing in a new batch of refreshments and there was also this other manong who was offering Buko Juice. Later by 7:30 am the guys were back from the peak and everyone had their well deserved breakfast. Asked of the warning from "Ate Fe's Eatery" yesterday, Manong Felix told us that those soldiers who were inspecting bags from Mountaineers near the start of the trail were said to be drunk. They reek of alchohol and were probably searching for alcohol from other climbers. Manong Felix did tell us that none of those soldiers have ever reached any of the camp sites yet. Soon Drew was talking about trees, provinces and Bonsai plants with them.
