Lakbay at DENR
fter breakfast, around 7am we decided to go down as we were running a bit late on our schedule. We cleaned up and headed down towards the Ambangeg trail. It was fortunate that the weather was clear and sunny on our way back, and since this trail was familiar to most of us, it was easy and faster. Though, we were on our way home, some of us can never deny that they were hungry, their food supply had almost dissipated, if not gone. The trail back was more of a liesurely walk. The mossy forest was a nice sight to see again. I enjoyed the stroll inside and was thankful that nothing much has changed since the last time I went here. By lunchtime we were already in Badabak Ranger station and found our jeepny ride already waiting.
Lakbay Unlimited's climb to Akiki was an experience that would somehow shape the young club. Though we had gone through some hungry momments and tempers flaring coupled with some exhaustion and fatigue, we can never deny that there is still much that was enjoyed. To see one of the most beautiful mountains, to walk its picturesque trail and a test of friendship among hard times are things to be noted.
