here's this new grave there from a guy named Rolan. Chris told us that he died of suicide, jumping of the echo point in echo valley on rainy November night 2002. It was believed that he was high on drugs at that time. Sagada was also known as a drug dealer arena, but recent crackdowns had made Sagada Drug Free (or is it still?).
Echo valley has a nice view of hills and trees. The cliffs here are a rock climber's heaven. Chris told us that some foreigners sometime do attempt to rock climb here even without the harness. Also from the echo point you could see some Hanging Coffins from afar. We continued on walking down from the Echo Point deeper down the forest to see the hanging coffins up close. It's quite intriguing on how they managed to put those coffins up there on the sides of the cliffs. Several theories come into play here, like there was someone from the top of the cliff pulling the coffin ropes or they placed the coffins first before they put in the bodies. Chris just told us that the native people of Sagada are natural rock climbers.
