Traversing Cambulo to Batad

Looking back at Cambulo behind us

This would be my last post for the Cambulo/Batad series. I’d just like to share the beautiful scenery between the 2 villages in Ifugao. Despite the continues rains, the terraces never fail to mesmerize. In fact, the added mist and fog added to the drama of the scenery, making it more enigmatic to the eyes.

A village amidst the terraces

I didn’t manage to go around the village that much since we only have a limited time. But I did manage to take a peek into their daily life. Let’s take a look.

Akyat-aklat outreach

Entering the village

It was already mid-afternoon when we we reached the riverside village of Cambulo. We saw the dominant yellow complex of the village which is the school. We were welcomed by the local children of the village who seemed excited upon our arrival.

Road to Cambulo

Jump Off at Kinakin

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been out on the road. So when a fellow climber and one of the officers of MFPI Ms Ruby, invited me to join an Akyat-Aklat Outreach Project by Batch 19 of of MFPI’s individual members, I jumped at the opportunity and hey it would be a great start for the year to do an outreach. Last outreach I’ve done was way back in 2001. So off we go to Cambulo, Ifugao.
