Ironwulf: Shade of Wulf 2001
No, it’s not another sequel to the 300, it’s the number of this blog post. Officially, it’s my 500th post for this blog. I didn’t even notice it until I was about to post another entry. I say official because there were some blog post in my early years that I have to remove or set to unpublished for my own reasons as well. So there were more from here but I’d rather keep some things private. I was thinking what I should write for my 500th post but I have no particular idea so I’ll just ramble on and see where it goes from here.

I was looking into my archives and made me think about those years past. Wow! Around 5 years of officially blogging? I think I’m getting old hehehe in a few months time I’ll be stepping on the big three-oh. I don’t want to be so retrospective here but I hope that the things I did in my 20’s somehow mattered not only to me but the people around me.

I tried to search the history of this site through Wayback Machine and I’m amused that even those sites under different hosting wayback 2001 is still there. Hahaha. Very nostalgic. Blogging wasn’t that big back then, we had to manually input, upload our ‘logs’ on a whopping fast paced 56k dial-up connection.

Okay, moving forward, the site has changed layouts throughout the years. Like I said before, each layout somewhat represents my personal development as well. All layouts I did here are original creations and were thought out with a purpose in mind.

So 2008, a new layout is here again. What plans to look forward to? One is my official portfolio site which won’t be a blog certainly and another resource for Pinoy Backpackers hopefully. It won’t be a blog as well since wordpress won’t be able to handle the resource of this database and community driven site I’m planning. I said community driven since I myself can’t populate all the information on this resource site.

So a few words to end this post is Thank you to all! It has been a wonderful ride and I hope I can posts a thousand more entries in the future. There may be a slight change in this blog. I am aiming more on a true budget travel and adventure blog with accounts on actual travel experiences on destinations, transits, eats, sleep, gears, and gadgets. I’m not intending this site to be a guide since I’m not in the position to say what is the best a destination can offer since people vary opinion on this but a site which shares travel experiences which hopefully inspire my readers to find their own way and discover for themselves what the world has to offer.

i like the fact that you looked back on the lay-outs as part of your flashbacks (hehehe, i just got O’d with lost last nite) for your 500th post. congratulations. so, which of your travels/destinations did you like best. btw, could you do a top 5 of your fave destinations?

congrats ferdz! that’s a long long way you have. 5 years is really something. i was kind of amused also at how you’ve mentioned that you’re nearing the 3-zero. it just made me smile because when i reached that milestone, i was somewhat uneasy of the future ahead of me but also wanted to celebrate it with a solo trip for a brief break and introspection at some paradise: Batanes the beautiful.

Wow! Five years is along time. Galing ng mga layouts. I remember the version 5 , I think that’s when I stumbled here first. And glad to say, what a great find. Congrats and all the best to your new travels and ideas.

I started visiting your blog when it was “Around the Bend” and I was really excited about it. Until now, I think your blog is one of the best.

i say it again and again that your blog is probably one of the most influential blogs i have ever read and probably one of the reasons why i revived my interests in traveling and photography. i know it is a busy world but you showed me that a day should not start and end in the four corners of the office. your simply a great guy and i am blessed to have known u even thru blogging. more power ferdz and cheers.
