Iloilo and Guimaras Splendor

Nagarao Island, the island of the Tree Spirits

Nagarao, the island of the Tree Spirits

Wow! I’ve never felt so busy lately. Lots of things to take care of and lots of things to write and look forward to. Just along with some stuff from the Batanes Photo Safari, I still have to write about some sites from Pangasinan. This is just another short posts, some brief teasers of the places we visited in Iloilo and Guimaras as something to for you guys to watch out for. We only had a limited time so we have to pick some spots. Iloilo and Guimaras is huge!

Down at the southern tip of Guimaras is honestly one of the most beautiful Islands I have seen. In fact, I’m already longing to go back there just for the myriad photo opportunity its beautiful landscape offers. Nagarao, also known as the Island of the Tree Spirits will just captivate you.

I never expected Iloilo to be so huge. I never really liked the central City of Iloilo itself when we were there since I find it a bit cramped and disorganized. Traveling beyond the city boundaries though will reward you with more attractions that it would take weeks just to explore most of them. Not to be missed is the impressive Church of Miagao. Just standing in front of the thick and elaborate facade of this church, you’ll find it really worthy of being one of the country’s UNESCO World Heritage sites.

There is more to Miagao than its church. Moving deeper in its mountains you’ll find more natural attractions. One of these is Bugsukan Falls. It’s one of those sights that’s really hard to find. Fortunately, there were kind locals who are willing to lend a hand and we got to find the place.

That’s it for now. Detailed post coming in the next few days.
