Tea tasting with tummy treats

Lemon Torte

Lemon Torte

You know what I else I like aside from shooting travel photos? It’s Food! Those baked goodies just melt in your eyes. I was recently able to try some cakes at Classic Confections in Greenbelt 5. Pastries is one of my food weaknesses, especially those colorful and mouth watering ones like from this cake shop. I try to stay away eating much of these, if fact I’m already contented eating bits of one of each since some I found really sweet. So let me just indulge a bit with some yummy photos instead. I really like the colors of these goodies.

Mini Butter and Chocolate Cupcakes

Mini Butter and Chocolate Cupcakes

My favorite among these cakes is the Lemon Torte because I like the creamy and fruity flavor of lemon and it isn’t too sweet. Their apple cake also seconds with me on this one.

Nono's Chocolate Oblivion

Nono’s Chocolate Oblivion

Nono’s Chocolate Oblivion is dedicated to the person with the said name. I somehow like the crunchy almond on the outer layers but it’s far too sweet for me.

Opera Mini Cakes

These opera mini cakes has a rich chocolaty flavor. It’s just a fine chocolate munch treat. I enjoyed taking pictures of these food since it’s very colorful and pleasing tot he eyes.

Chateau 1771

Chateau 1771

Before we went on Classic Confections, there were two other restaurants we checked out. First was Myron’s for their appetizers of Mushroom Crostini with Emmental Cheese as well as the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with Romesco sauce. I’m a sucker for mushrooms so I enjoyed the Crostini. Too bad I wasn’t able to take pics of them since I came in a bit late and just ate when I got there.

Maple Glazed Black Cod with boursign (herbed cream) cheese potato gratin

Moving on to our main course was at Chateau 1771. First time I actually ate at this place and I was served a Maple Glazed Black Cod with boursign (herbed cream) cheese potato gratin since I preferred Fish than meat. I wasn’t disappointed, love the taste of this dish and the potato gratin is one of the best I’ve tasted. That boursign cheese on potato is a winner on my palate awards.

Lipton Milk Tea

Lipton Milk Tea

The last stop for dessert of course was Classic Confections. And with all these place we visited in Greenbelt 5, were able to sample Lipton Tea’s new Milk Tea products that comes in three flavors: Original, Gold, and Vanilla. I’m not much of a coffee drinker and leans more on tea with drinks so I appreciated these tea tasting event. I especially like those Nan Chai Milk tea from Seattle but I found them too sweet. It’s nice to see there are already instant ones available. Among the three flavors my favorite is the Gold Variant, I thought the flavor was richer, but the most aromatic is the Vanilla variant. These tea were a nice accompaniment to the food we ate. I also have a some supplies already for my office consumption and its fast dwindling.
