El Nido Palawan seems so far away. An elusive paradise tucked at the north western side of Palawan. It’s one of my local dream destinations so when I was given the chance to go there I didn’t pass the opportunity. South East Asian Airlines (Seair) is one of the two airlines (the other being Island Transvoyager Inc’s (ITI) using their 19-seater Dornier 228) who operate the Manila to El Nido route. Last week 24th of February, we flew Seair’s 19-seater LET-410 plane en route to El Nido Palawan.

Batanes: Deep Sea Fishing at Bagong Tuklas
I’ve always thought that Batanes is rich in underwater life but it has never been really exploited. It’s remoteness (and pricey flights) really prevented a lot of people for coming here to gamefish. It’s really fortunate that on one of my assignments on Seair Inflight, I was able to observe what it’s like to fish here. Here are some excerpts from writer Chip Childers.
Seair Inflight: Art Spark
Seair Inflight’s February – March 2009 Magazine is now available. In this issue, you’ll find the “Art Spark” story feature on the Insider’s Guide section. Insightfully written by Ces Rodriguez and ingenious layout by Jocas See, I was fortunate enough to be the photographer for this feature. The story is all about the interesting Art trail in Manila from the prehistoric to the religious, traditional and modern and even to the emerging and hip art scene. This was a 2 day photo assignment shot early 2009. I found it a bit challenging since most of the time we shoot indoors for this one and focused more on the culture, objects and architecture rather than outdoor scenery and portraits.
Ferdz Decena is Seair Inflight Infocus for Dec-Jan 2009
Seair Inflight December 2008 – January 2009 is already out. Aside from the gorgeous and classy cover (shot by Daniel Soriano, Art Direction by Jocas See and creative concept by the Inflight Team) and the beautiful in-depth insider feature on their new destination Borongan in Samar, covered by my friend Lagal[og], yours truly was able to share a spread space in this awesome issue as the Seair Inflight Infocus Photographer.
Transit: Flying to Busuanga
To explore the whole of Palawan is another one of my Holy Grails here in the Philippines. I was able to explore the Taytay Palawan years ago and definitely enjoyed that piece of the region and wanted to actually see more. Last weekend, another spot has been crossed out. Me, along with 4 other adventurers flew to the island of Busuanga for the weekend. All of us were new to the place so it was pure discovery and exploration backpacking style!
