Gah, I’m getting a bit slow lately in blogging since the year started. I guess I’ve just got to many things to do and too many questions in my mind, like “Why does the wolf’s howl doesn’t echo in the mountains?” or “How does a malayan snake viper senses heat to attacks it’s prey?”. What?! I guess I’ve been watching too much “National Geographic” and “Animal Planet” during breakfast lately.

I went back to Quiapo yeterday to buy some new sets of rechargeable batteries and had my underwater Camera’s Shutter Button fixed, also to have a set of 8×10 photos developed. Well as usual, Quiapo, in particular, Hidalgo and Plaza Mirada is a universe itself. Too bad I missed last week’s “Black Nazarene” feast and experienced a sea of people crowding the streets of Quiapo.

While I wait for my photos to be developed, I decided to lunge my camera along the infamous Intramuros and Fort Santiago. Again, these ruins never beat to present a solid opportunity for a photos opt. I remember back in college, our photography class would give assignments for the week and we usually hang out in this place and learn the tricks-of-the-trade of photography. Where we honed our skills in aperture and shutterspeeds and those expired films. That’s why photography was so much fun then, we have a reason to just go out early morning during school weekends.

Fort Santiago is the same as before, crowding with either chinese or korean tourist. There was a wedding at the Manila Cathedral when I arrived there. It was picturesque so I decided to take some shots as well. Their official photographers, carrying their expensive 10Ds and D70s were also taking pictures and were like, “Kakilala nyo ba yung kinasal?” as they were rumbling to get into position for their wedding shots while I intrude their field of vision while taking a shot. Hehehe. I heard a rumor or a superstition before that couples getting wed here always have a lousy marriage or usually break up. Is it a curse or sumtin? Well hope that won’t happen to these two

Speaking of DSLRs, am planning of upgrading my camera sometime soon. C-750 is a great camera really, but I need the power and speed of an SLR. Much like the ones I used on films before. I’m looking into buying either the Nikon D70 or the new Olympus Evolt once it gets here.
