So you’ve been there, done that. You’ve done all the capital cities and all the major beaches. You’ve backpacked Europe and road tripped across the US. Now you want something new, a place to really get excited about! Don’t stress, you might have seen a lot of the world – but definitely not all of it. Read on for five sparkling new ideas.

Nepal

First up is Nepal. This landlocked Asian country lies in the south of the continent and is most well known for the fact Mt Everest is located within its borders. It is the starting place for most treks up the mountain and most of its tourism comes from this source. However Nepal is so much more than just a mountain! In addition to its numerous breath taking trekking opportunities, the country is a great place for a spiritual awakening, as the locals are wonderfully friendly and want to help you appreciate as much of their culture as possible.

Peru

The next big option for an undiscovered overseas adventure is Peru. This South American country is one of the oldest in the world, yet is still a secret to most tourists. In addition to the glorious scenery, history, and general joy of the local people Peru’s biggest appeal is the limitless options for everything – the geography, the tourism, the activities. Whether you want to stay in luxury accommodation or volunteer in local communities, Peru has everything you could want in a location. If this sounds appealing to you but you’re not sure where to begin, My Adventure Store is a great resource in planning South American trips.

New Zealand

New Zealand might be geographically close by, but what’s that saying about not seeing things that are right in front of you? Ignore the sheep jokes; this country is truly a beautiful escapade. The two islands that make up New Zealand – the North and South, are so distinctive and jam-packed with adventure options that you’ll definitely have no trouble filling in a couple of weeks of vacation. And if you want to get deep off the beaten track, go on one of the many treks available. Pure wilderness and no tourists – perfect.

Vietnam

When most people think of an Asian holiday, their thoughts generally go to two weeks of partying on the beach and tanning. How cliché though! If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on Asia, look no further than Vietnam. With so many horrific things that have happened to the country in the past, it’s astounding that it’s people are happy for foreigners to visit and explore their beautiful country. This trip will be half-history lesson and half-exploring beautiful scenery, and you’ll be glad you took it.

Sweden

Sweden doesn’t necessarily get a bad rap, but it definitely has plenty of stereotypes surrounding it. The blonde hair, blue eyes, and intriguing accent, not to mention the Swedish Chef from The Muppets – most people never bother to look further than the rumours. And what a mistake that is! Sweden is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, and is definitely worth a trip. Year round there are plenty of activities to do – snow or sunshine – so you’ll never get bored. But PS don’t tell anyone Sweden is much more than the clichés, keep this Scandinavian beauty for yourself.

Hopefully the above five destinations are surely enough to give you the travel bug again. No one wants the same old holiday – get off the road and on the beaten track!
