I was on a beach the other day and one of my companion was collecting sea shells. Upon his collection emerged a hermit crab out of his shell, looking for a new home. It occured to me, why can’t more people be more like hermit crabs? When these crabs no longer find any use for their current shells they just leave and find another one. Yes, it may be risky leaving the protective comfort of their current shells, but when their lives is at risk, or their purpose no longer serve them, they just leave to find a bigger, more beautiful, more comfortable shells to grow into.

Situations are like shells, you choose the situation you are in. So if the situation you have now doesn’t work for you, choose to change it.

What I liked about new years is that it symbolizes a fresh start for everyone. It makes people analyze their past year and hopefully make a good observation on their current situations. It’s also a time when people do their New Year’s Resolution. I never liked the word “Resolution”. It’s definition to me is like using an old solution to fix a problem, thus “Re-Solutions”. So I opted more “Who you choose to be” or deciding who I wanna be or how you wanna create yourself next year. Don’t you think it’s much better than “Re-solutions”?
