I had a feeling I would be visiting Sentosa one of these days. I’ve been to Singapore several times but it wasn’t really on top of my lists but I do know it’s one of the premier parks in Singapore that most Filipinos would visit when in the country. When I saw in our itinerary that we’ll be spending an afternoon in Sentosa before we head to the airport for our evening flight, I welcomed the idea of finally getting a sight of this popular Singapore Playground.

Sentosa Island is a huge theme park. We even had to take a long bus ride offered free within the park just to get to Siloso Beach where we’ll meet some folks from Sentosa over lunch. We only have a few hours here so the folks lined up a few activites the group can do while there.

The Segway Trail was our first stop. A segway is an electronic “green” two-wheeled transportation machine. The movement and speed is determined by the weight balance directed by the operator on the segway. We first had an short trial run, guided by one of the staffs to acquiant us on the operation of the machine. Once we got it, we ode on the trail. It was indeed a a tricky balancing act but once I got used to it, I added some speed. It was fun to go through the rough trail but it was too short. Something to go back to definitely.

We took the Skyline Luge ride next to get to our next stop. But the ride itself was an attraction  since it offers amusing views of the luge riders going down hill and a sudden scream of excitement when a monitor lizard crossed their way. Finding our feet dangling loosely on a considerable height also adds to the excitement.

The Tiger Sky Tower was our next ride. It was fairly easy ride on a platform being elevated up the tower then rotated 360 degrees twice to see the sights around the island. It’s actually a nice sightseeing ride, we could see an island with a “Marry Me” which obviously some one placed there to propose. It was really interesting to see the stilt houses, the other giant Merlion and even Superstar Virgo.

It was time for pirates, traps and real water sprayed over us when we watched The Pirates in Sentosa’s 4D Magix theater. It’s about 45minutes watching with our 3D visor, feeling the thugs and fulls from our chairs and feeling the air and watersprays as well. It’s an interesting and sometimes amusing slaptick comedy.

Our last stop was the Jewel Box at Mt Faber. This is a fairly new attraction as this wasn’t here last time I climbed Mt Faber. We took a cable car ride connecting Sentosa and Mt Faber and got off on this beautiful hilltop dining area and shops they now call the Jewel Box. It’s a dining, shopping and also a setting for events. We only got to see a portion Jewel Box but it would be really interesting to see more of the place.

Leaving for the airport that evening marked the end of our Double the Adventure! Fly and Sail Adventour Package from AirPhil Express. It sure was an exciting jam-packed 4-days for us. Riding a cruise for the first time and visiting Sentosa was memorable. But as always, familiarization tours are there just to give us a taste and it’s up to us to go back for more.
