The city of Las Vegas may seem like an impossible dream for those on a budget, but there are a few tricks you can try out if you want to visit the city of sin without losing too much cash. You don’t have to be an expert gambler to walk out with more than you bargained for, so here are a few tips to get you started.

Practise beforehand

You wouldn’t enter a marathon without training, so if you do want to try your luck on the tables, make sure you do your research first. Read a few poker guides, play against friends or try out online casino games like agent jane blonde to improve your skills. If you haven’t got much cash to spare, online casinos often offer you a free practise round before you commit to spending any money, unlike a real life casino in Vegas.

Visit the cheaper casinos

Casinos in Vegas are free to walk into up and down the strip, but you could walk out of some a lot lighter than others. The main reason for this is table limits – i.e. the minimum bet you are allowed to place before you play the game. Many high end casinos can set their limits very high, from $25 to $100 minimum bets, but if you know where to go, you can bet just $5 if you don’t like to play dangerously. Timing your visit is also crucial – casinos are much more likely to charge higher stakes at the weekends, so if you can plan your visit during the week, try to. Casinos like O’Sheas and Casino Royale have the best deals on minimum bets, with many tables starting at $5.

Drink for free

The inexperienced Vegas gambler will head to the bar before he heads to the machines – a rookie mistake if you’re looking to save money. Many Vegas bars charge premium rates for their drinks, especially at the weekends, but there is a way to drink without paying a penny. While you’re on the slots, whether you’re at Bally’s or the Bellagio, keep an eye out for the cocktail waitresses – wait for them to approach you and take your order. They will bring you an alcoholic drink free of charge, but it is common courtesy to tip them a dollar. Tip them more and they’ll make sure you’re well liquored all night.
