Nestled in the quiet town of Luna, Apayao, Casa Lacuesta offers a serene retreat for travelers looking to explore this off-the-beaten-path destination. Conveniently situated behind the Apayao Provincial Capitol, the accommodation is surrounded by lush greenery, rice paddies, and a peaceful rural landscape. The area exudes a tranquil charm, making it an ideal base for those looking to unwind while still being close to local attractions like Lussok Cave, known for its stunning rock formations and underground river tours.

Rooms and Facilities

Casa Lacuesta features an 11-room setup designed for comfort and simplicity. Each room is well-maintained, offering essential amenities such as comfortable bedding, air conditioning, and a clean, cozy atmosphere. There are dorm rooms for families and groups, as well as executive rooms for solo travelers and couples. I stayed in an executive room, which was aptly spaced to fit a large bed, a table and chair, and a clothes rack. There was still enough room for my luggage spread out on the floor.

The fourth floor is my favorite area of Casa Lacuesta. It’s an open-air dining space with a panoramic view of the surrounding fields and trees. I would often bring my meals and coffee up here and spend time working. Their fast WiFi made it easy to get some remote work done efficiently, whether it was catching up on emails, writing travel notes, or editing photos from my adventures in Apayao.

One of the highlights of Casa Lacuesta is its warm and hospitable service. The staff is known for their attentiveness and friendliness, ensuring that guests feel welcome throughout their stay. Breakfast is included, featuring local flavors that provide a delightful start to the day. Whether offering travel tips or simply engaging in friendly conversation, the team at Casa Lacuesta adds a personal touch that enhances the overall experience. They also helped me secure my ride and guide for tours around this UNESCO Biosphere region of Apayao.

Final Thoughts

As I checked out of this charming bed and breakfast, I made sure to bring some souvenirs and gifts home. I picked up some local Apayao coffee and turmeric as souvenirs. It's convenient to find some local products like Isneg handicrafts, local weaving, and vinegars here to buy.

Casa Lacuesta serves as a charming and comfortable accommodation for those visiting Luna, Apayao. With its serene surroundings, well-kept rooms, and exceptional hospitality, it provides a memorable stay that blends relaxation with local culture. Whether you’re in town for adventure or a quiet escape, this cozy retreat is worth considering. One of my favorite moments was sipping a hot cup of Cordilleran coffee on the rooftop, watching the morning mist rise over the rice fields—a peaceful way to start the day.
